Qualitrain Team to take part in charity climb next Spring

Five of Qualitrain’s staff members have joined forces to face the UKs highest peak, Ben Nevis, next spring.

The  exhibition has been co-ordinated in order to challenge the teams abilities while also raising money for mental health charity MIND. All of us have been toughed by mental health one way or another, with every year mental health affecting one in four people.1 Mental Health charity, MIND, offers information and advice to people experiencing challenges with their mental health.

Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Scotland, the United Kingdom and the British Isles. The summit is 1,345 metres above sea level and is the highest land in any direction for 459 miles2. The mountains native name in Scottish Gaelic is Beinn Nibheis, which translated into English means “Venomous Mountain”3. The name well-earned, with hikers frequently running into trouble on the mountain’s slopes.

The location was chosen to really challenge the team, who, between them have little hiking experience. Over the next 6 months the team will undertake various training activities to help prepare then for the big day!

The team is lead by Jamie Reid, Trainer and Assessor for Qualitrain Engineering Academy, and also consists of; Group Financial Director Matthew Bates, Financial Analyst Josie Lavelle, Group Marketing Manager Chrissie Baker and Marketing Assistant Ryan Bates.
