Qualitrain and its subsidiary D&R Supplies joined forces in February to exhibit at the East Midlands Manufacturing and Engineering Conference 2016.
The Engine Room at historic racing venue, Donington Park, was the venue for Qualitrain’s appearance at the East Midlands Manufacturing and Engineering conference, which also incorporated the Love Business exhibition. Senior members of many of the region’s largest manufacturers were present for the conference and Qualitrain took the opportunity to speak to delegates about the benefits of funded training packages within industry, the future for apprenticeships, and Qualitrain’s own highly successful projects with major East Midlands businesses such as Bombardier, BTRS, Doff Portland, and AVK Group.
Craig Done, for Qualitrain, and Darren Burton for D&R Supplies, were delighted to meet so many representatives of the region’s industrial base, and to champion the benefits of the lean practices and Business Improvement Training schemes which still have so much to offer. “Even those businesses which are quite advanced and which may have been through improvement programmes in the past,” said Craig, “often find that after a couple of years the benefits have been eroded. Competitive advantage depends on these measures being deeply embedded, and that’s where well-targeted interventions can still play a major role.”
