Education Secretary meets Qualitrain Trainees

Education Secretary Nicky Morgan found time during a breakfast meeting at Bombardier’s Derby plant to praise the work being done to nurture the next generation of engineers.

The MP for Loughborough, who was made Secretary of State for Education in a cabinet reshuffle last month, readily  acknowledged the importance for the future of UK manufacturing of encouraging young men and women to consider a career in engineering.

Whilst touring BTRS Mrs. Morgan met Qualitrain directors Richard Bates and Leon Bowler and was able to see a session of wiring loom training in action. This is just one area in which, over recent years, Qualitrain has developed bespoke training packages for Bombardier, which have now involved hundreds of their people across a range of engineering and Business Improvement qualifications.
